We produce primary aluminum. Aluminum is an internationally traded commodity,
and its price is effectively determined on the London Metal Exchange
(?LME?). Our primary aluminum facilities produce value-added and standard-grade
primary aluminum products. In 2004, we acquired Nordural, an Icelandic primary
aluminum facility which became our first production facility located outside of
the United States. We produced approximately 767,000 metric tons of primary
aluminum in 2007 with net sales of approximately $1.8 billion. Our current
primary aluminum production capacity is 785,000 metric tons per year (?mtpy?),
after the completed expansion of our Grundartangi facility to 260,000 mtpy
(?Phase V expansion?) in the fourth quarter of 2007. We are seeking approval to
construct a primary aluminum facility in Helguvik, Iceland. Our goal for this
