China Automotive Systems, Inc., ?China Automotive? or the ?Company?, was
incorporated in the State of Delaware on June 29, 1999 under the name
Visions-In-Glass, Inc..
On or around March 5, 2003, the Company acquired all of the issued and
outstanding equity interests of Great Genesis Holding Limited, ?Genesis?, a
corporation organized under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region, China, by issuance of 20,914,250 shares of common stock to certain
sellers. After the acquisition, the Company continued the operations of
Genesis. Presently, Genesis owns interests in eight Sino-joint ventures, which
manufacture power steering systems and/or related products for different
segments of the automobile industry in China.
On May 19, 2003, the Company changed its name from Visions-In-Glass, Inc. to
China Automotive Systems, Inc.
